Spanish Program Outline

Year-Round Spanish Program Options. Join our engaging language learning experience with Private, Semi-Private, and Private Group Programs available throughout the year. Whether you're a solo traveler, with family and friends, or part of a group, we have interactive lessons tailored for you in Playa Tamarindo. Choose your duration, attending for as little as one week or an extended period based on your preference. The minimum number of lessons is 10, each lasting an hour. Customize your learning experience with options ranging from 2 hours/day to 6 hours/day. Before your arrival, each student undergoes an online oral and written evaluation. Our materials and curriculum are provided, and lessons can take place at your chosen accommodation – yes, the teacher comes to you! Tailor your lesson plan to specific professional or language needs, such as incorporating Medical or Legal Spanish. You can also immerse yourself in our Summer Group Spanish Lessons. Dive into our exclusive Summer Group Lessons which are only available from mid-June to mid-August, coinciding with our 9-week Summer Spanish Camps. Choose between 2 or 4 hours/day classes, offered Monday through Friday. Prior to your arrival, undergo online evaluations to ensure placement in a group that aligns with your proficiency level. Classes take place at our picturesque beachfront summer campus in the heart of town, and all materials are provided for an enriching learning experience.

Surf Program

We have Programs and Packages for every level of ability, interest and pocketbook. We have a one day Discover Surfing Program that allows students who have never surfed before to find out if surfing is for them. We have our 2 week Beginners Program, which is our most comprehensive and popular option with students. Our Intermediate/Advanced Program is the only one of its kind in Costa Rica to give students two surf trips a week, 2 surf lessons a week and video analysis of their lessons. We have our Kids and Family Program that allows children of all ages and their parents to learn to surf as well as instructing them on beach safety. We also offer a 3 day Introductory Package, Weekend Surf Packages and a Boogie Boarding Program.

Lodging

In Playa Tamarindo we have Beachfront Apartments, Private Rooms and Home Stay. Homestay is offered in the towns of Villareal and Santa Rosa, which are located 4 and 6 kilometers from Tamarindo. The houses are small, clean, comfortable and fairly rustic. Included in the homestay option are: a private room, shared bath, breakfast, dinner, and once a week laundry service. Our Beachfront lodging has a number of different options, from which to choose. There are one, two and three bedroom apartments, studios and a private room with kitchenette. All have private bathrooms, a/c, super fast fiber optic internet connection and are very secure. They are located just steps from the water and in the center of town. You can walk to anywhere in under 10 minutes, meaning you do not need to rent a vehicle. There are other lodging options for families and groups in Tamarindo available upon request. Location

Playa Tamarindo is on Costa Rica's west coast on the Nicoya Peninsula and is one of the country's most beautiful beaches. The long, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters attract nature lovers, surfers, turtle watchers and sun seekers all year round, even in the rainy season. Though it is a great tourist destination, the town and area still have a very Costa Rican feel. Local fisherman and farmers still live and work as their families have for generations before them.

Local Color

Besides being a nature lover's paradise with numerous outdoor activities and wildlife, Tamarindo has a very enjoyable and active nightlife. The town boasts numerous cafes, restaurants, bars and discotheques, as well as local Fiestas. These 'fiestas' move from town to town, but are never far away and a great deal of fun.

Start Dates

Courses begin every Monday and are held every weekday of the year except in the case of national holidays. We are always closed and do not offer lessons on the following Holidays: New Year's Day (Jan. 1), Holy Thursday and Good Friday, which are before Easter, Labor Day (May 1), Guanacaste Day (July 25), Mother's Day (August 15), Independence Day (September 15) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25). If a holiday lands on the weekend, it is usually observed on the following Monday. All Private lessons will be adjusted accordingly.
